シリアル番号は、刻印の場所及びその方法により五つの時代に大別されます。

----------4 to 6 digit Neck Plate（1954年から1963年）----------
4点止めのネックプレートに4桁から6桁までのシリアル番号を刻印していた時代

1954年 0001 to 6xxx
1955年 6xxx to 9xxx
1956年 9xxx to 16xxx
1957年 16xxx to 25xxx (some numbers with a "0" or "-" prefix)
1958年 25xxx to 30xxx (some numbers with a "0" or "-" prefix)
1959年 30xxx to 40xxx
1960年 40xxx to 58xxx
1961年 55xxx to 72xxx
1962年 72xxx to 93xxx
1963年 93xxx to 99999

----L-Series (1963年から1965年　希に1962年ものが存在する) ----
4点止めのネックプレートにＬと5桁のシリアル番号を刻印していた時代

1964年 L2xxxx to L55xxx
1965年 L55xxx to L99999

----F-Series　４点止めプレート (1965年後半から1971年) ----
Fマークが入ったネックプレートに6桁のシリアル番号を刻印していた時代

1967年 18xxxx to 21xxxx
1968年 21xxxx to 25xxxx
1969年 25xxxx to 28xxxx

Fマークが入ったネックプレートに6桁のシリアル番号を刻印していた時代

1975年 58xxxx to 69xxxx
1976年 69xxxx to 75xxxx

----Serial Number on Peghead Decal (1976年から)----
ネックプレートからシリアル番号を外し、ペグヘッドのデカールとしてシリアル番号を貼り付けた時代（以下の通りいろいろなパターンがあります）

1976-1977年 76xxxxx ("76" in bold)
1979-1981年 8xxxxxs
1976-1981年 1xxxxxx to 8xxxxxx (7 digits)



S1 to S5 + 5 Digits = 1979-1982年
S6 + 5 digits = 1976年
S7 + 5 digits = 1977-1978年
S8 + 5 digits = 1977-1978年
